This is my guide which shows how to effectively finish your Bloodvelds task by using the Cannon. For this method, the cannon will be killing Mutated Bloodvelds, instead of regular Bloodvelds. These will still count towards the Bloodvelds task. Mutated Bloodvelds have low defence like the regular Bloodvelds but they have a lot more health which means a lot more experience for you. Mutated Bloodvelds have to be killed with the cannon in the Meiyerditch Dungeon. This area is a multi-combat zone. There are a few ways to get to the Meiyerditch Dungeon but the best 2 ways are: 1) Shown in video - Use the Abyss to get to the Blood Altar. This required the completion of Legazy at Seergaze. Drains Prayer unless using Forinthry Bracelet. Use Potions or Falador Shield ability to restore Prayer. 2) Enter the Meiyerditch Dungeon from the Canifis Basement. It's a long walk with a 65 Agility requirement for 1 of the obstacles. Thanks to www.youtube.com for pointing out that access to the altar doesn't require 77 Runecrafting. Mutated Bloodvelds, just like their unmutated cousins, use a magic-based melee attack. Because the cannon means that upwards of 5 Mutated Bloodvelds will be attacking you at once, using magic defence armour will not be a sufficient enough defence against their attacks. Prayer armour with Protection from Melee is the recommended defence against their attacks. This task, when completed with the cannon, is one of the best tasks in terms of experience. This is my guide which shows how to effectively finish your Bloodvelds task by using melee only. Bloodvelds can be killed with melee in the Slayer Tower or the Meiyerditch Dungeon. The Bloodvelds in the Slayer Tower aren't aggressive. Bloodvelds use an inaccurate magic-based melee attack that can be negated with decent magic defence. As you will be fighting them one at a time, Prayer should not be required unless you are a defence pure. If you do plan to use protection prayer, you will have to use Protection from Melee. Even though the accuracy of their attack is based on your magic defence, it is still counted as a melee attack. Bones to Peaches is a very effective method of healing for this task as the Bloodvelds hit low and infrequently and they drop Bones. A Bunyip familiar would also be adequate as a method of healing. Enhanced Excalibur and Saradomin Godsword special attacks in conjunction with Food can also be used.
