Three great artists sing the song "Crazy" written by Willie Nelson, popularized by Patsy Cline. Live performance. --- I've been warned that this vid seems to be a violation of copyright laws. As a consequence, it's highly probable that this vid will not be available in the future. So enjoy it as soon as possible...
Elvis Costello sings Hoover Factory which is about the big white ex "Hoover" factory on the edge of the A40 in West London which is now a "Tesco" supermarket. Performed at the Barbican on the 9th March 2010
This is Elvis Costellos first ever TV appearance - only a small part of this appears on his official DVD 'The Right Spectacle'. The original master tape was wiped. Heres more info as I understand it as requested. I believe this performance was originally from a local regional show 'Granada Tonight' or something like that - the ITV regional news show for the North -East. The clip was then shown on networked 'So It Goes' - the first TV show in Britain that would show punk bands - produced by Tony Wilson (I may have this bit wrong and was recorded especailly for 'So It Goes', but I think thats correct) Being this was mid-70's, TV companies in Britain were not great at archiving their shows and the original master tapes were wiped. However, there was an early home recording available (probably made by Tony Wilson himself??) and this was re-broadcast in 1986 on Channel 4 when they celebrated 10 years of Punk - that was when I recorded this VHS and when Channel 4 added the apology caption. So theres is a better version available without my added VHS deteriation added on top! However, a small portion of the song was also shown on a 'So It Goes' compilation programme which HAS been kept. This clip in good quality can be found as an extra on Elvis' offical DVD Compilation 'The Right Spectacle', which is a fantastic DVD and you should buy if you're a Costello fan.
Animated video clip of Elvis Costello's "Accidents Will Happen" (1979). High quality sound and video. I uploaded this clip because the other versions of this song on youtube look and sound like second or third generation recordings from VH1. Enjoy the amazing period animation from Annabel Jankel and Rocky Morton! The team that brought you Max Headroom! In 2003, this video was one of only 35 videos selected for inclusion in the Museum of Modern Art's prestigious "Golden Oldies Of Music Video" exhibition.
