This is my rendition of one of the greatest piano songs in my opinion. Bruce Hornsby's "The Way It Is." Its a bit raw, but I know I would never be 100% satisfied with it so here it is. This is an experiment in video editing and a major technical challenge on the piano. The drum part was easy to play, but the recording quality is far from great. I'm fine with it for now, though... just getting my feet wet. I hope you enjoy.
NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED This is a great song I heard on the radio the other day. Bruce Hornsby and the Range Mandolin Rain The Way It Is 1986 "Mandolin Rain" is the third track off The Way It Is, the debut album and commercial zenith for Bruce Hornsby and the Range. The song, released around Christmas time in 1986, was a #4 hit single for the band in early-1987, nearly achieving the success of their previous single the #1 hit and title track of their debut album, "The Way It Is". It also reached #1 on the adult contemporary chart for 3 weeks, and #2 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for 2 weeks, also in early-1987. The song was co-written by Bruce Hornsby and his brother John and featured Range member David Mansfield on the title instrument.
